Success applying Study Technology
I run an audio-video company which handles mostly corporate events.
The audio-video business is centered around technology. This technology is constantly changing and to be competitive you must keep up with the new developments.
One of the barriers to understanding the technology is the constant use of new words and abbreviations.
I found from the technology of How to Study in Scientology that a key barrier to understanding is going past words or symbols you do not understand. I have found this to be extremely applicable to my industry.
By looking up every word and new acronym (a word formed from the initial letters of other words) that gets introduced into product information I am able to not only understand what these new developments are all about but actually use them if they are useful and applicable to what we do.
I also wrote down the basics of what an audio-visual technician needs to know, including defining the key words in the subject, and I have new technicians study this. I am finding that as a result they are able to be effective on their job much faster than previously.
And. By the way, we just ended another year in the business with the highest income ever.
I cannot imagine running a business without using Study Technology.

Success Applying Study Technology
I must admit that most of my schooling in Europe went way over my head.
I was there because I had to be there.
I had no reason to study Shakespeare and old English poetry. What was the use?
High school had one advantage, I learned how to type and did secretarial work when I left school. No real ambition.
However, years later I studied Finance and Marketing and luckily I had “how to study” as researched by L Ron Hubbard under my belt.
Studying was no longer boring or enough to send me to sleep.
I could get through the study and use what I learned and I became successful.
I also felt more alive as I could spot what I did not understand in study and life and clear it up without feeling “brain fog”.
It helps me to achieve my purposes.

Success Applying Study Technology
For most of my life I have considered myself as a slow learner and thought that school and study wasn’t really my forte. When I was in second grade I was labeled with “ADD” and was held back a year as my writing skills were too far behind the rest of the class. High School was also a big challenge for me and I barely scraped by. I admired those that could memorize vast amounts of information and pass tests effortlessly, a “skill” I just didn’t seem to have.
It wasn’t until I started taking courses in Study Technology at the Inglewood Church of Scientology that I finally found the real reasons that were behind my study difficulties. I found out what it means to really learn, not just “memorize”. It wasn’t that I was “stupid” or just a “slow learner” or had “ADD”; it was that I didn’t even have the very basic understandings and know-how that was needed to truly learn in the first place!
Since taking a few courses in Study Tech my ability to study, learn and (Most importantly) apply what I have learned successfully has skyrocketed to levels I never imagined possible. I can now comfortably and confidently confront* virtually any subject that I wish and know that I will come out on the other side of that study with an ability to apply what I have learned immediately and with success.
(*Confront is a technical term in Scientology, and it means: to meet something face to face, especially an obstacle that must be overcome.]
Most of us have spent so many of our early years being “educated” without ever learning how to learn to begin with. It sounds like a contradiction, “learn how to learn”, but the truth is that one must first know the very basics of any subject before taking on increasingly difficult and complex subjects, and the subject of learning is the bedrock. This is a vital and necessary skill for anyone that wishes to increase their survival and happiness in Life. I highly recommend it!

Success Applying data from Communication and Understanding
I use the information from L.. Ron Hubbard on the communication formula and understanding every day of my life.
I can state for a fact that before I knew this information my life was painful to say the least.
I literally could not communicate what I wanted to say to friends, associates and family members.
I missed out on so much I wanted to say but didn’t know how to.
But that is the past and now I know how to communicate and that communication is the most important factor in achieving understanding, and my life is very different as a result.
I find when I am in a situation where I don’t understand something – it could be a situation at work or with my wife – then I just communicate and keep communicating until I achieve understanding. It works!
And not only am I happier but everyone around me is much happier as a result.

Success Applying data from the Communication Formula and the Components of Understanding
I find that I can now take the heat out of someone’s upset before it gets into an argument.
This is vital in work and in relationships.
Most offices have someone who is basically a bit upset and “prickly”, well, there is a way to help defuse that.
My husband and I do not argue, we just start listening to each other and acknowledging what the other said.
It makes for a great, lasting relationship.

Success applying the Communication formula
It is no small statement to say that the subject of communication has been THE major difficulty in my life. I was always the shy, introverted guy who would sulk in the background. The idea of socializing and meeting people or just having simple conversations would sometimes make me feel sick. Suddenly I’d be “too tired” to go out or make some excuse to miss school rather than deal with some dreaded social confrontation.
If I had to speak in front of a group, “stage fright” doesn’t begin to explain the terror I would sometimes be overcome with. My stomach would tie up into painful knots and my hands would become sweaty and shaky.
I never felt that what I had to say had any real importance or that my communications were best left to myself. I “mumbled” and was soft spoken, often to the annoyance of my parents and associates.
Well, after studying the Communication Formula and doing communication drills in Scientology, this life-long affliction has been resolved entirely. Do I still sometimes feel quiet or introverted? Yes. But I now have the know-how and tools to overcome this anytime I decide to. Simply knowing the parts of communication and how to confront the act of communication blew away these considerations and issues that I had held onto for so long.
Specifically, the subject of confronting (Being able to be there comfortably and observe) and the drills in Scientology to achieve this skill handled any introversion or real difficulties I had on the subject. Knowing the specific parts of communication helped me to have more control over my conversations and feel vastly more confident.
The subject of communication really undercuts any and all difficulties in life, as in order to handle anything, one must be able to confront and get into communication with it. This is true for handling a problem with a business partner, spouse, family member or even your own vehicle or job!

Success Applying the Book: The Problems of Work
I cannot imagine running my business without knowing the information in this book.
For example – how much nicer would it be to treat work as a game you have decided to play, rather than a burden you have to suffer with?
Well. This book Problems of Work showed me how to do just that.
Or what about knowing exactly how to handle a situation where you are surrounded by confusion and don’t know what to do?
Again, the book told me exactly how to handle it.
Communicating with clients and understanding them became easy with the data contained in this book, to the point where we get clients telling us how great their experience is to work with us.
I honestly don’t know how I would survive without using this vital technology from The Problems of Work.
And incidentally, I just ended another year in business with the highest income annual ever.

Success Applying the Book: The Problems of Work
This book showed me there is something to find out about life.
I have used the data in this book to get more done. It is simple.
There is even a handling for exhaustion in it.
And there is a way to help develop communication with someone – a possible friend or maybe a potential client.
Without this book, I would not have a successful and expanding business and would probably be unhappy.
Happiness is a right everyone should have.

Success Applying the Book: The Problems of Work
It must be my favorite book in Scientology, as I return to it again and again to restudy and refresh my understanding of the incredible jewels of applicable wisdom found within.
As life consists of around 75% “work”, it’s an important subject to master.
I recently had a huge win applying the subject of “exhaustion”. I was finding myself unusually tired when I sat down to confront my daily work cycles at my computer desk. I’d sit down and suddenly be hit with a wave of exhaustion. My productivity started to diminish and so I amped up my caffeine intake and tried to “push” through it. This of course only wound up making it worse.
So what did I do? I reread the chapter on Exhaustion in Problems of Work, applied the procedure that is given for handling it, and what do you know? My exhaustion completely disappeared within 20 minutes, and I could happily get back to work full-steam ahead.
I often find that, because Scientology technology is SO fundamental and basic (At the core of problems, subjects, etc), one can easily skip it and do something more “complex” or “drastic” because we know that it “just can’t be that easy”. Well, it is that easy when you have and use Scientology technology.
So instead of grabbing another coffee or pulling your hair out, just apply the Exhaustion drill in Problems of Work and it works like a charm every time.

Success Applying the data about the ARC Triangle
(ARC= Affinity, Reality, Communication)
Raising children can be difficult. In my opinion, teen girls are especially difficult.
I have 16 and 14 year old girls. The stories I could tell.
To be honest there were times where I loved my daughters but also I wanted to kill them.
The ARC triangle taught me how to deal with them.
When talking to them I always try to understand them better, getting the reality of what they were going through.
My communication with them got better when I started using it.
Also realizing that communication is a 2 way street -- it's not just talking it's also about listening.
I also explain to my children my reality of the situation and the fact they know why I am doing/saying something.
It's easier for them to have that communication whether they agree or disagree they still have that understanding.

Success Applying the data about the ARC Triangle
The biggest personal success I have had applying this has been in my relationship with my Wife. Prior to Scientology, I could never seem to easily start or maintain relationships, platonic or otherwise.
Becoming friendly with someone was always a real effort and very often the relationships seemed to fizzle out or end in a dramatic and violent bang. Why couldn’t I hold a relationship or maintain a happy one? Scientology has helped answer this for me. I did not increase reality, affinity, or communication sufficiently enough!
My Wife and I are both Scientologists and we understood this concept from the get-go, so when we first met, we immediately increased these points dramatically. We knew we already shared the realities (agreements) of Scientology, music, aesthetics, where we wanted to live, how many children we wanted and so on and so on. Having agreements on these different points immediately increased our liking for one another (affinity) and our desire to continue communication! This very quickly led to us getting Married and we continue to have a highly successful and happy marriage. Do we ever have disagreements? Of course, but with enough Affinity, Reality and Communication we can always come to resolutions and remain on stable terms.
